Microphone Calibrator

The acoustic calibrator 4010 is an acoustic sound source for calibrating and testing microphones and sound level meters. It meets the requirements for class 1 calibrators in accordance with IEC 60942 and can generate two different sound pressure levels at two different frequencies, allowing the level linearity and frequency weighting of sound level meters to be checked.

Microphone Calibrator

Sound calibrators of the CA1xx series are very stable precision class 1 and class 2 calibrators.

The devices can be used with 1⁄4“ and 1⁄2“ microphone’s.

The internal reference microphone and control loop
circut, guarantees a microphone type independent precise calibration.

Technical Data:

  • sound level 94 dB
  • automatic switch off
  • durable device
  • operation display via LED
  • delivery with calibration certificate
  • high accuracy through internal reference microphone

Sound Calibrator 4010

Microphone Calibrator

The sound pressure level is measured with an internal reference sensor and readjusted.

This ensures a sound pressure level in the calibrator’s coupler that is virtually independent of the acoustic load of the measuring microphone and the ambient conditions.

The 4010 calibrator also measures the ambient conditions of temperature, air pressure and relative humidity.

Technical Data:

  • 250 Hz and 1000 Hz
  • 1″, 1/2″ and 1/4″
  • 94 dB and 114 dB
  • PTB type approval

The comparison method plays an important role in frequency response measurement, especially for non-metal measurement microphones that cannot be tested with an electrostatic actuator.

Non-metal measurement microphones can only be tested using the direct method or the comparison method.

The CA916 full-frequency coupler was developed on the basis of the comparison method.

A 1/2″ reference microphone is mounted in the housing of the coupler.

An appropriately designed cavity ensures that the sound pressure on the diaphragm of the test specimen corresponds to that of the reference microphone.

The measurement frequency range is between 20 Hz ~20 kHz.

CA935 generate high SPL up to 180 dB at 500 Hz

Key features include:

Tube resonance principle

The CA935 was developed based on the tube resonance principle and ensures precise calibration with pure sound waves of large amplitude at 500 Hz.

Exceptional calibration range

The CA935 offers a dynamic range of 94 dB to 180 dB, exceeding conventional calibrators and meeting the requirements of high-pressure environments.

High sensitivity, low distortion speaker

A built-in speaker with high sensitivity and minimal distortion (≤0.5 % at 171 dB/500 Hz, ≤2.5 % at 180 dB/500 Hz) guarantees accuracy in calibration and distortion measurement.

Optional MPA473S compatibility

Users have the option of selecting the MPA473S high-level microphone as a reference to enable real-time monitoring of sound pressure levels.

Applications:

Aerospace testing

Precise linearity calibration for aerospace microphones to ensure reliability in high sound pressure environments.

High SPL Microphone Calibrator

Acoustic testing in the defense sector

Calibration in defense scenarios with a dynamic range of 94 dB to 180 dB, meeting the stringent requirements for accurate acoustic testing.
