Portable train proximity warning sensor system

Vibration measurement for the early detection of approaching objects at long distances. This presentation demonstrates the early detection of approaching trains from a distance of 2 km.

The system combines a highly sensitive IEPE accelerometer with very low inherent noise, a Plug.n.DAQ Lite USB measurement card with an optimal measurement range and low inherent noise, and vibration monitoring software.

    Direct connection via Plug.n.DAQ Lite (2 channels) or import of existing measurement data.
  • Real-time analysis Time history, frequency spectrum (FFT/PSD) and characteristic values such as RMS, peak, crest factor.
  • AI-supported anomaly detection Isolation forest algorithm detects deviations from normal conditions.
  • Traffic light system: green (OK), yellow (warning), red (anomaly).
  • Intuitive operation
  • Modern user interface with two modes:
    Simple mode for operators (traffic light + key figures)
    Expert mode with FFT/PSD, feature tables, and score histories.
